PRAIA DA ADRAGA

CARCAVELOS

Carcavelos is one of the many beaches from ''Costa do Sol'' being the most famous for its characteristics. As it is turned Southwest, it can hold some of the bigger winter swells. The Northern winds, typical of Portugal's coastline are offshore in Carcavelos and create some fast and tubular waves when the conditions allow it.
During Summer the waves are small and give place to the numerous surfs schools and habitants from Lisbon. It can get very crowded due to its proximity to the capital. SEE RATES >

COSTA DA CAPARICA

At the South riverside of Tejo, a long coastline stretches out for about 17km extending until Fonte da Telha. Built to protect the city of Costa da Caparica, the jetties create good conditions for surfing and make it a very consistent place, although, be aware of the currents. It is the closest beach to Lisbon, therefore it can get crowded during weekends but it doesn't take much to find a few uncrowded lineups as the jetties stop after 2km.   SEE RATES >

ADRAGA

Located at the bottom of the little picturesque village of Almoçageme, between Cabo da Roca - Europe's most western point and Praia Grande - one of the most frequented beaches of Sintra's council, Praia da Adraga is among the hidden treasures of this area and remains an untouched beach. Due to its small dimensions, Adraga works best with low tide and doesn't hold strong winter swells but it is a good option for the smaller days. The proximity of the southern cliffs causes the waves refraction and creates a fun wedge wave. With the right tide and the right swell direction, waves can get very tubular and fast - especially the left-hander.
